TENDER №: AE/HQ/008/2013-14/HQ/C/51: DESIGN AND SUPERVISE CONSTRUCTION OF BIOGAS PLANT AT ITAKA JKT

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has set aside funds for the operation of the Rural Energy Agency (REA) during the Financial Year 2013/14. It is intended that part of the funds will be used to cover eligible payments under the contract for provision of consultancy services to design, supervise the construction and commissioning of biogas plant at Itaka JKT in Mbozi District.

Following the formulation of the National Energy Policy in 2003, and the enactment of the Rural Energy Act in 2005, the Rural Energy Board (REB), Rural Energy Agency (REA) and Rural Energy Fund (REF) were established in 2007. REA is the executive body and Secretariat to the REB. The Fund is the mechanism by which the Board shall fulfill its mandate to provide grants and technical support to projects that are developed by private and public entities, co-operatives, and local community organisations.

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR INVITATION FOR PROPOSALS - Supply of Starter Packs of LPG for Prison Staffs in Areas of Rural Mainland Tanzania

The Government of Tanzania through the Rural Energy Agency (REA) in collaboration with Tanzania Prisons Services (TPS) in response to attainment of sustainable development goals, has opened a   financing   window to support distribution of 15,920 units of 15kg LPG Starter Packs to earmarked Staffs in all Tanzania Prisons. This is part of the Clean Cooking Packages that the parties have agreed to cooperate inorder to enable these institutions to stop using environmentally and healthily harmful cooking solutions.
