EOI - SUPERVISION SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 220/33 KV SUBSTATION AT IFAKARA AND DISTRIBUTION LINES IN KILOMBERO AND ULANGA DISTRICTS

INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

1. The United Republic of Tanzania has received a grant from the European Union (EU) to finance Review of Detailed design and Supervision services for construction of 1x20MVA, 220/33 kV substation at Ifakara and 70km of distribution power lines in Kilombero and Ulanga Districts.

2. The principal objective of this project is to improve living conditions of the population through provision of access to reliable electricity with specific objective to increase and stabilize the availability and access of electricity in rural areas of Ulanga and Kilombero Districts.

3. The scope of work include Review of Feasibility Study and Detailed design and supervision services for construction of 1x20MVA, 220/33 kV Ifakara substation and extension of 70 km distribution power lines in Kilombero district as well as low voltage reticulation and grid connections of 1,050 customers in the villages of Mofu, Idandu, Msumbiji A, Idete west, Kiogosi, Michenga, Ihenge and Ihanga.

4. REA now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest to provide Consultancy Services to carry out the above described services.

5. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the assignment by submitting firms’ profile, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff etc., and generally demonstrate experience with all requirements of this assignment.

6. Acquisition of consulting services will be carried out in accordance with the European Commission Practical Guidelines.

7. Expressions of Interest must be delivered, in one (1) original, five (5) copies and one (1) softcopy in PDF-format, to the following address: Office of the Tender Secretary, Rural Energy Agency Tender Board, Mawasiliano Towers, 2nd Floor, Procurement Management Unit Office, Room No. 214, Plot No. 2005/5/1, Block-C, 20 Sam Nujoma Road, Ubungo, 14414 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

8. Expressions of Interest (EoI) must be delivered to the address provided under Para 7 at or before 12:00 hours on 8th June, 2017.

9. Late Expressions of Interest shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
