The 2024/25 Energy Access and Use Situation Survey provides data to inform energy-related programs and projects. Compared to the previous editions, this survey offers a deeper analysis of rural electrification levels, energy affordability, household usage patterns, and the socio-economic impacts of energy access. It also examines energy sources used for lighting and cooking in greater detail.
As Tanzania works toward becoming an industrialized economy, understanding the status of energy access and usage is essential. This report not only provides a comprehensive overview of our nation’s current energy status, but also establishes a foundation for improving the energy indicators used in national programs. The insights derived from this report are expected to play a key role in guiding the country’s progress toward effective implementation and ensuring alignment with international development frameworks including the Sustainable Development Goals.
