The Rural Energy Agency (REA) invites the Round III applications from Renewable Energy Small Power Producer (SPP) and Mini-Grid Project Developers for of financial assistance from the Projects Preparation Support Facility (PPSF).
By providing grants to Developers for project feasibility studies and other pre-construction consulting services, the PPSF is designed to support Developers to complete development of projects and achieve financial close. The PPSF has up to $4 million funding available, with the maximum grant of $250,000 per project.

The Government of Tanzania, through the Rural Energy Agency (REA) has undertaken the Tanzania Rural Electrification Expansion Program (TREEP) with funding from the World Bank as part of its rural electrification work and funding.
The TREEP includes up to USD $15 million credit line resources for both Small Power Producer (SPP) projects and Renewable Energy Company (REC) loans; these funds are intermediated through TIB Development Bank (TIB) and then on-lent at preferential rates to Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs), which are the local commercial banks.
